MTV Video Music Awards MoonDrive MoonMan

Challenge:
Creates a USB Storage Device “MoonDrive MoonMan” complete with custom space capsule for the MTV Video Awards program. The package would need to be produced in the Orient with a tight time-frame of 30 days and distributed to select VIPs.
Solution:
Design concepts and packaging were submitted of 3D MTV Moonman and Space Capsule. Custom clay molds were created in the Orient of the Moonman with MTV Flag and Space Capsule. Finished product consisted of a 5 inch tall Moonman injection molded with a chrome plated finish. Memory stick was installed in “pull out” head of moonman with MTV logo silk screened on stick The capsule was an injection-molded top and bottom with printed graphics inserted into the capsule. Finished product was delivered to VMA event at Radio City Music Hall, with 24 hour turnaround in Customs – on time and on budget.
